Connecting I Developing I Designing
Tūngia te ururoa, kia tupu whakaritorito te tupu o te harakeke.
Clear away the old and redundant plants so the good may grow vigorously.
Learning Environments Australasia recognises that New Zealand has a proud heritage and unique cultural identity, these two aspects are embodied within recently constructed learning spaces.
The relation to the land, and the acknowledgement of the people, the kaitiaki (the guardians) is evident in so many of our Christchurch/Ōtautahi learning spaces and we are excited to share them with you. This strong focus has become the new standard when designing and constructing learning environments across New Zealand and this a chance to see it all in 2023.
At the re:Activate - generating a city of learning conference 2023 we know we will be able to see a vast array of learning environments from early childhood, primary and secondary schools to universities, as well as the urban fabric required to re:Activate a city.
The conference will have school tours, keynote speakers and smaller workshops throughout the three day event. The smaller workshops are called re:Activate Sessions. These smaller sessions will be dynamic and engaging presentations for our delegates to participate in, which will enhance the keynote speakers and build on the school tours.
The re:Activate conference 2023 will drive the three key aims of Learning EnvironmentsAustralasia:
to advocate for quality learning environments,
to promote and share the world's best practice among educators and designers,
and to invest in the research and development of new concepts.
We hope that you will join us at re:Activate 2023 and make this the most successful conference of the year.
Nga mihi nui, Jacque Allen LEA Conference Chair, 2023
