Transformance: Extraordinary Spaces for Excellent Teaching

Published: Thursday 11 April 2019

Billions of dollars have been invested in new learning spaces. Are these spaces living up to their potential?

Are teachers adapting their pedagogies to these new spaces?

Research by the Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change (ILETC) Project has uncovered missing evidence into the effective use of learning environments.

In their keynote, Associate Professor Wesley Imms and Research Fellow Chris Bradbeer will give a half-way summary of the Project's findings, and outline the development of a Transition Pathway – a much sought-after device with wide applications for teachers, schools, educational policy, and designers alike.

Explore WA's first school wellness centre, which is generating intense interest from schools around the world.

The $10.5 million Presbyterian Ladies College Lighthouse puts mental health at the heart of the curriculum with a fitness centre, kitchen, meditation room, dance studio, expressive art room, health consultation rooms and a recharge room for powernaps.

Once divided by walls, fences and a ramp, the Iona Presentation College Junior School is now a united 2,500 sqm campus with external teaching spaces, breakout opportunities and a dynamic play space. Discover how this was achieved through the school's strong relationship with the design team.

Tour 5 is almost full.
