Site Visit to Roma Mitchell Secondary Multi-Campus School

Published: Monday 20 August 2012

The SA Chapter has continued to hold a successful series of site visits where members and associates could view recent developments, hear about the planning process and the subsequent use of the facilities.

In July 2012 the Chapter arranged a visit to Roma Mitchell Secondary which is a multi-campus "super school” for 1400 students built through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) process. It replaced four ageing schools which were closed when the new centre opened in 2011 . It includes a co-ed secondary, a girls’ school and a special education unit and caters for a culturally diverse and wide ranging group of students but is nearly at capacity in its first year.

Congratulations to Ross Treadwell (Department for Education and Child Development ) and Marino Rossi (Thomson Rossi Architects) and thanks to Blue Scope Steel for sponsoring the site visit.
